Franconian Rye (100% Organic)

A mixed flour bread, typical for the region “Franken” (Franconia) in Northern Bavaria – Germany. Made from 70% dark and light organic rye mixed with whole wheat and a bit of organic bread flour. A large amount of rye sourdough that has fermented over 14 hours and typical German bread spices (ground caraway, fennel and coriander seeds) give this bread its authentic flavor. It has a stronger crust, the crumb is dense, yet soft and slightly moist - it keeps fresh for up to a week. Ideal for open faced sandwiches, savory or with butter and jam as breakfast. A specialty bread from the Alpine region of Vallis in Switzerland. A 100% organic Rye bread, filled with toasted walnuts and a few sunflower seeds. Made with a rye sourdough culture. Like our other rye breads, this loaf will stay fresh for at least a week or longer. Approximate weight: 900g/31.7oz
